My story
Why I built another way.
I grew up in a relatively happy family. Not perfect, but happy. Even as a young child, I knew we could be happier with more emotional intelligence. There was a lot going on inside all of us that we simply didn't know how to talk about.
That awareness never left me. I always knew I would become a therapist, and when I did, I loved it. But over the years I watched too many people leave with labels and diagnoses when what they really needed were skills. I kept wondering why there wasn't another place, besides therapy, where people could learn the things I was teaching my clients.
Then life tested me. In one of the hardest seasons of my life, I lost my sister, a relationship ended and other painful things were happening in my family. And like so many of my clients, I kept working and ignored what was going on inside me.
When I finally reached out, I did what I had always done and went to therapy. Then I tried a second therapist a colleague recommended. Both times it was just talking, with no tools and no direction. I felt like a diagnosis instead of a person, and I often left sessions feeling worse.
Around the tenth session, I sat in my car and thought:
“What do I do with my clients? I guess I'll do that on myself.”
So I did. Every morning, I did the work I do with my clients, on myself. Slowly, the fog lifted, and I began to feel joy again.
That's when I knew what I wanted to build: coaching for people who don't need to be diagnosed, but who want real skills. Emotional intelligence. Self-worth. Tools they can use for the rest of their lives.
That's what I do today, from my office serving Phoenix, Paradise Valley and Scottsdale, online worldwide and on private retreats in Sedona.
